One more op in 12 weeks and I'll be all done so hopefully next sailing season will prove to be better than the last one!

Unfortunately we haven't managed to move from the pen since February. I was diagnosed with early breast cancer just before Christmas and underwent a bi lateral mastectomy in late February. Since then I have been recovering and going through a series of operations to reconstruct.

So treating the Rockingham cruise as a bit of a shakedown, it became apparent that we did not have enough power whilst away from shore power.
We are now back at HYC and the very technically brilliant Mike has fitted two more solar panels, we now boast half a kilowatt in total! What's really clever us that he has hinged them so that we can take advantage of the morning sun and evening sun too. Clever, these old Greenwich boys.

Finally escaped from the "lets fix that today/lets go get this for the boat etc, etc, etc" and we are, as I write heading down for a few days in Rockingham/Garden Island to see in the New Year. Believe me, it feels wonderful to be out on the water again, and what a speedy little baby she is too - 6.5 knots in 9 knots of wind on the beam. Awesome!

Happy happy joy unbounded: a new Force 10 to replace the old Eno! Finally after a couple of stoves from hell!
Other work completed: all new thru hulls, new sanitation hoses, AIS fitted, chart plotter fitted at helm, electrical compliance sorted, new inverter, new batteries.....not to mention a fully fitted out laundry room! And people wonder what we do all day !

Have spent the last week on the hard stand anti fouling and replacing skin fittings. Well to be honest, Mike did the skin fittings and I did the anti fouling.
Pretty full on and hard work! The girl got her new name too, and very nice it looks too. Now comes the clean up, back in the pen....and getting all the paint off my sunglasses, out of my hair and off my fingernails !
